Go Fest 2026: Tokyo Park to Host Time-Sliced Super Mega Raids with Mega Mewtwo X and Y

Niantic details for GO Fest 2026 in Tokyo reveal Super Mega Raids featuring Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y, playable only during the last 30 minutes of each Park Gameplay Experience session at designated gyms, with location info sent by email. The raid format is tougher, encouraging teams of about seven Trainers and at least one Mega. Entry uses Link Charges, and local raids can be joined with Link Charges or Premium Battle Passes, while remote raids require both a Remote Raid Pass and Link Charges. Mega Mewtwo Lands a Global Debut at GO Fest 2026 with Early Mega Level Boosts

Pokémon GO Fest 2026 marks the global debut of Mega Mewtwo in two forms (Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y) that can be Mega Evolved using new Mega Energy earned from Super Mega Raids during the event; in-person attendees get early access and Mega Level unlocks, with energy rewards potentially boosting to Mega Level 2 or 3. Updates to the Mega Evolution system include faster level progression and separate progression for each form, plus form-specific attacks.
