SoCal Coast Warned: Extended Alerts for High Surf and King Tides
The National Weather Service extended dangerous coastal warnings through midweek for Los Angeles County beaches and through Friday for Orange County beaches, with dangerous rip currents and 3–6-foot waves driven by elevated surf and king tides of 7.5–7.9 feet. The alert warns of increased drowning risk and potential coastal flooding in low-lying areas; beachgoers should stay out of the water and near lifeguard towers, while OC officials prepare flood protections and sandbags for vulnerable areas, including Newport Beach.
