Switch 2 Compatibility Expands With Major-Title Fixes

Nintendo has rolled out another batch of Switch 2 backward-compatibility fixes for a broad list of games, including Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, and DOOM (2016), per Nintendo Everything via Nintendo Life. The fixes also cover titles like A Hat in Time, Botany Manor, Dadish, DariusBurst and Limbo, while Nintendo notes progression issues with some games (e.g., Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed) and a few that work but have problems (Pizza Tower graphics, Laysara touch-screen). Masahiro Sakurai revealed in a Nintendo interview that he wrote the lyrics for Kirby Air Riders' main theme and kept them under wraps to avoid the game’s world being tied to a single person. He explained the lyrics have dual meanings—an outward joy of sharing with the machines and an underlying wish for Zorah to regain freedom—and described how Iwadare’s third take was adapted into a Zorah-themed ballad, with the goal of letting kids sing along.
