Sanctioned Iranian LPG Tanker Breaches U.S. Blockade to Deliver Cargo to China
A sanctioned Iranian tanker, the SOGL, successfully bypassed the U.S. naval blockade to deliver 500,000 barrels of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to China. The vessel, flagged by the Comoros and owned by Gravion Maritime, loaded cargo in August and transited through a Malaysian anchorage before discharging at Xinzhou Port. While the U.S. blockade has effectively halted crude oil exports, small LPG tankers continue to evade enforcement using shadow fleet tactics.
