PwC Merges US and Indian Consulting Units in $2 Billion Joint Venture
PwC US and PwC India have signed an agreement to form a joint venture that merges PwC US’s India-based Acceleration Centers with PwC India’s consulting business. The new entity will employ approximately 40,000 people, representing over 10% of PwC’s global workforce, and is expected to reach a valuation of $2 billion. The deal aims to streamline global delivery, integrate AI capabilities, and remove operational friction between the two member firms. PwC India will hold 49.9% ownership but retain operating control, while PwC US holds 50.1% and majority voting rights. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals, including from India’s Competition Commission.
