Disney doubles down on bite-sized content and new IP to power its empire
Disney plans to expand short-form video across its platforms and invest in original IP and existing franchises, with CEO Josh D’Amaro and Dana Walden reorganizing for faster decision-making. The company is rolling out vertical video on Disney+ and ESPN, bringing IP-driven content from creators to its streaming services, and aiming to surface Disney’s brands on social platforms to engage Gen Alpha. Executives highlighted investments in franchises like Zootopia and potential new areas like the Hoppers, while integrating games to extend storytelling and cross-promote across platforms.
