Atari expands retro toolkit with Implicit Conversions acquisition
Atari has acquired emulation studio Implicit Conversions for an undisclosed sum. The studio, known for porting classic games to modern consoles using its Syrup engine, has worked with Atari on titles like Mortal Kombat: Legacy Collection and Rayman. Co-founders Bill Litshauer and Robin Lavallée will take new roles, and Implicit Conversions will provide ongoing support to Atari. The move strengthens Atari’s retro-gaming capabilities, complementing existing tools and its IP partners, and follows prior acquisitions of Nightdive Studios and Digital Eclipse to bolster its catalog.
