JWST Uncovers Secrets of the Dark Molecular Clouds in the Milky Way's Core

However, the gas inside the cloud is warmer than expected, suggesting that the CO may have frozen out in the denser regions. These findings challenge existing models of star formation and the abundance of CO in the galactic center. Further observations with the JWST may provide more insights into The Brick's low rate of star formation.
