TL;DR

The Perseid meteor shower, peaking around August 11-12, 2024, will offer optimal viewing conditions due to a first quarter moon setting around midnight. Stargazers can expect to see 50 to 100 meteors per hour, best viewed in areas with minimal light pollution, especially in the hours before dawn.
