Man's Mistaken Rock Turns Out to Be Priceless Treasure

A man in Australia spent years trying to open a heavy rock he found, thinking it contained gold, only to discover that it was actually a rare meteorite. The 17-kilogram meteorite, named Maryborough, is estimated to be 4.6 billion years old and is composed of iron. It contains tiny crystallized droplets of metallic minerals called chondrules. The meteorite is one of only 17 ever recorded in the state of Victoria and is considered more valuable than gold due to its rarity and scientific significance.
