NASA's Perseverance rover has found evidence of a "deeper and faster-moving" river on Mars than previously thought, with new images showing tall, curving layers of rock and sediment grains suggesting a "high-energy river." Meanwhile, the European Space Agency's Mars Express orbiter has captured new images of the pitted, fissured flank of Ascraeus Mons, the planet's second tallest volcano, revealing chains of craters, large fissures, and braided channels that may have been formed by water or melted ice.
