Buzz at the White House: Thousands of Bees Descend on the North Lawn
A swarm of thousands of bees briefly overran the White House North Lawn, described as a 'bee tornado' by reporters, with the insects forming a bivouac in a tree near Pebble Beach; there’s no official word on the number of bees involved. The incident comes as Melania Trump recently expanded the White House honey program, and the White House notes its beekeeping can house up to 70,000 bees and produce about 230–255 pounds of honey annually, with excess honey donated to local food banks.
