Health Influencer Matt Roeske Promotes Radioactive Water to 500,000 Followers
Holistic health influencer Matt Roeske has drawn widespread criticism for posting a video in which he drinks from a 'Revigator,' a 1920s-era ceramic jug containing radioactive materials. Roeske, who has over 500,000 Instagram followers, claims he has consumed this water for 250 days, asserting that the radioactive content is harmless and cures various ailments. The Revigator contains carnotite, a uranium-rich rock, along with arsenic, lead, and vanadium. Roeske attributes the historical ban on such products to a conspiracy by the 'Rothschild medical system' to suppress profitable cures. This incident highlights the dangers of unregulated wellness advice on social media, particularly given the historical precedent of Eben Byers, a steel magnate who died from severe radium poisoning after consuming similar products. The FDA and FTC banned these items in the 1930s after they caused fatal health complications, including jawbone cancer and skull deterioration.
