
Ukraine and Poland Chart Path to Heal History-Led Strains
Ukraine proposed a comprehensive diplomatic framework with Poland to stabilize ties, including structured foreign ministry consultations, joint WWII historian meetings, and involvement of religious leaders, while highlighting progress on historical issues like exhumations and historian congresses and pledging ongoing cooperation on security and reconstruction. The initiative follows tensions over Zelenskyy’s decree honoring the UPA and Poland’s revocation of Zelensky’s award, with both sides reaffirming their shared stance against Russia and discussing border infrastructure and post-war reconstruction ahead of a NATO summit.
