Philippines Hit by Deadly Landslides as Typhoon Bavi Closes in on Taiwan and China
Typhoon Bavi’s outer bands trigger deadly landslides in the southern Philippines, killing at least 15 people in Sarangani and Lanao del Sur as the storm tracks toward Taiwan and China. PAGASA says Bavi will not make landfall in the Philippines, but heavy rainfall and flooding could affect Manila and nearby areas. Evacuations are underway, and Bavi has already impacted Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, with further impacts anticipated in Taiwan, Japan, and southern China.
