
Thomson Reuters bets on in-house AI to cut Anthropic costs
Thomson Reuters unveiled Thomson-1, its first in-house AI model built by adapting Alibaba’s Qwen-based Snowdon to handle tasks like document review, aiming to reduce reliance on pricey external models (notably Anthropic) and to build long-term IP, while still leveraging some capabilities from Anthropic through its CoCounsel partnership.
