New Abelisaurid Dinosaur Species Discovered in Argentina
A new species of abelisaurid dinosaur, Vitosaura colozacani, was discovered in Argentina, dating back around 80 million years to the Late Cretaceous period. The medium-sized predator, about 15-18 feet long, was found in the Los Llanos Formation and adds to the understanding of abelisaurid distribution and diversity in Gondwana. The discovery was published in Ameghiniana in 2025.
