Microsoft unifies Copilot experiences into a single 'super app' ahead of launch
Microsoft is merging its consumer and commercial Copilot apps into a single unified interface called a 'super app,' starting with Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot. The rollout will begin mid-August for mobile/web and mid-September for Windows and Mac, with chats and content merged for users of both apps while personal and work data remain separate. Some features, such as Podcasts and Deep Research, will be retired on August 18, and other features may be temporarily unavailable during the rollout. Core Copilot capabilities remain free, and this move lays the groundwork for the broader super app planned later this year.
