MacBook Neo May Get Fresh Colors to Cushion Rising Costs
Apple is reportedly weighing new color finishes for the MacBook Neo to cushion a potential price increase as demand drives up component costs and production scales. The Neo starts at $599, and Apple has asked suppliers to prepare for roughly 10 million units, up from 5–6 million. It uses the A18 Pro chip and faces tight 3nm capacity at TSMC due to AI demand; a new production run would use top‑tier chips, increasing per‑unit costs. DRAM prices have risen as well, pushing the bill of materials higher. No specific new colors are named, and Apple has not ruled out a price hike.
