Microsoft Build unlocks RTX Spark dev box and Linux-ready tools for Windows developers
At Microsoft Build, Microsoft unveiled a compact RTX Spark‑powered Surface RTX Spark Dev Box (up to 128GB RAM) for Windows developers and rolled out Linux-friendly tooling, including a native Windows port of coreutils, WSL in containers, and Windows Developer Configurations via WinGet for a streamlined setup. It also introduced enterprise sandboxing for AI agents with Microsoft Execution Containers (MXC) to limit access and behavior. Pricing for the Dev Box wasn’t disclosed. Overall, the announcements push tighter Windows/Linux integration and AI-enabled development workflows.
