Atlanta Repeats as World’s Busiest Airport, ORD Gains Ground
ATL is again the world’s busiest airport in 2025 with about 106.3 million passengers, extending its 27th- of-28-years streak, while ORD climbs to America’s third-busiest behind ATL and DFW. Dubai DXB remains runner-up and Haneda third, with DFW and PVG rounding out the top five. ORD also led global takeoffs/landings with a double-digit increase as United and American expand, prompting FAA scrutiny to curb congestion. Four US airports finish in the world’s top 10 (ATL, DFW, ORD, DEN), and international hubs like DXB and LHR lead in international passenger counts.
