Kremlin Threatens Retaliation as Russian Strikes Intensify on Kyiv Civilian Infrastructure
Russian spokesperson Dmitry Peskov warned that Ukraine must 'pay a price' for recent actions, coinciding with an unprecedented surge in Russian drone strikes on central Kyiv and other civilian targets. The Kremlin has authorized its military to hit any targets it deems appropriate, while Ukraine has escalated attacks on Russian refineries and logistics hubs, forcing Moscow to import fuel. Despite the escalation, Peskov ruled out progress in US-mediated peace talks, and Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed Kyiv's moves as provocative, stating they will only worsen the situation for Ukraine.
