Netanyahu alleges Iran targeted his son, demands security for all PM candidates
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed on Monday that Iran attempted to assassinate one of his sons, though he did not specify which son or provide details on the plot. The allegation was made during a phone interview with Channel 14, where Netanyahu also demanded enhanced security for all prime ministerial candidates, specifically citing the lack of protection for rival Gadi Eisenkot. These remarks come amid a broader US-Israeli war with Iran that began with a strike killing Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and his family, and as Netanyahu’s coalition trails in polls ahead of the October general election.
