Soldier's Grief Turns Deadly: 13 Civilians, Including Wife, Killed
A Congolese soldier in Ituri province opened fire on family members and others who had buried his son without him, killing 13 people, including 10 children. The soldier's wife, in-laws, and two of his children were among the victims. The soldier, who remains unidentified, fled the scene after the attack. The United Nations has warned of escalating violence in eastern Congo, with over 600 people killed and 345,000 displaced in Ituri province alone this year.
