DLSS Gives Switch 2 the Edge, but KH3’s UE4 Legacy Bottlenecks the Port
DLSS remains Switch 2’s key advantage, helping it rival PS4 performance in several games. But Kingdom Hearts 3 on Switch 2 (and elsewhere) lacks DLSS due to its legacy Unreal Engine 4 build, so it runs at native resolution and often dips toward 30 FPS, unlike PS4/PS5. The game uses dynamic resolution, targeting ~1080p in handheld and ~1224 docked. While the KH3 demo suggests final performance could improve, past examples like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth show optimization can lift results by launch. The KH Collection lands in October, with KH4 expected around 2027.
