Taco Bell trims menu as cyclosporiasis outbreak prompts ingredient recalls
Taco Bell has begun removing several produce items—lettuce, cilantro, onion, pico de gallo and guacamole—from certain Detroit-area locations as health officials investigate a cyclosporiasis outbreak linked to produce; Michigan reports nearly 1,000 infections, far above its usual annual total, while the CDC notes Cyclospora can cause explosive, watery diarrhea. There have been no deaths reported, and officials are pursuing the outbreak source as produce recalls continue.
