Cincinnati kitten Gelato finds permanent home after shelter builds wheelchair from toy cars
A kitten named Gelato, who arrived at a Cincinnati animal shelter with a lower-back injury, was adopted by Hope Hollandsworth after staff crafted a custom wheelchair for him using Hot Wheels cars and wooden rulers. The 5-month-old cat, who cannot use his hind legs, now lives with Hollandsworth and her two other foreleg-only cats. Gelato will continue therapy to potentially regain mobility, but his new owner is committed to his well-being regardless of the outcome.
