The Trade Desk shares tumbled 28% after Q2 revenue of $715 million missed estimates and its Q3 outlook of at least $650 million fell short of consensus around $805 million, triggering a broad downgrade wave as analysts cite macro pressure on advertisers, execution issues and a shift to cheaper programmatic media; meanwhile AppLovin and Magnite showed relative strength, suggesting the weakness is company-specific rather than a wider ad-tech downturn.
Nothing's Phone 4(b) launches at £299 (~$399), undercutting the 4(a) but at the cost of several downgrades: plastic back instead of glass, a lower‑resolution 6.77‑inch display with dimmer brightness and lower PPI, a slower Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chip, older UFS 2.2 storage, a reduced dual-camera setup (no telephoto), and slower 33 W charging despite a larger 5,200 mAh battery. The price cut is modest, and reviewers argue the 4(a) remains the better value for only a bit more, thanks to superior display, performance, camera versatility, and charging.
iPadOS 27 will no longer support iPad models with the A12/A12X chips (iPad 8th gen, iPad Air 3, iPad mini 5, iPad Pro 11-inch 1st gen, and iPad Pro 12.9-inch 3rd gen), leaving several 6–8 year old devices behind despite iOS 27 supporting older iPhones. The piece suggests two possible mitigations: allow downgrades from iPadOS 27 by enabling iPadOS 26 on eligible devices (Apple currently unsigns older firmware, and older iPadOS security updates exist); or, though unlikely, extend iPadOS 27 to those older devices. The author notes a precedent in 2022 when Stage Manager was expanded to older iPad Pro models and wonders if a similar reversal could happen. It also points out Apple continues security updates for iPadOS 18 (e.g., 18.7.9), indicating older devices aren’t entirely abandoned. The article frames the situation as a debate between forward progress and keeping older hardware usable.)
