Diver uncovers 162-year-old Guinness in shipwreck, possibly drinkable
Two divers recovered a 162-year-old bottle of Guinness Extra Stout London from the Mindoro shipwreck off the English Channel (sank 1864). Samples were sent to KU Leuven for study, with researchers noting a potential to recreate the beer if DNA recovery and cork integrity allow. Guinness Archive is coordinating with the divers, and the explorers believe more bottles may remain in the wreck.
