UK MoD reassures after Chinese-made camera found in Royal Navy sea drones
During a routine cyber vulnerability assessment of the Royal Navy's K3 Scout sea drones, a camera's heartbeat signal was observed pinging a Chinese IP. The MoD says there is no evidence that data or systems were accessed or transmitted externally, and testing will continue. The incident underscores sensitivities around Chinese components in military equipment, with Kraken asserting security assurances while a third-party camera supplier used Chinese-made parts.
