Easter Ceasefire Tests Moscow’s Offensive Tempo in Ukraine War
ISW reports that the Kremlin unilaterally declared a short Easter ceasefire (April 11–12) with Putin ordering a pause in combat in all directions, while Zelensky says Ukraine proposed a ceasefire and may extend it. On the battlefield, Russian forces continue offensives around Hulyaipole with limited gains as Ukrainian counterattacks disrupt other sectors, and Moscow pulls strategic reserves to sustain operations without decisive progress in Donetsk. Ukraine also continues long-range strikes against Russian energy infrastructure, and Russia faces domestic censorship pressures and growing Belarusian security cooperation.
