
Berkshire Hathaway Expands Investments and Boosts Buybacks in Q2, Cash Dips
Morningstar reports Berkshire Hathaway’s Q2 results modestly beat expectations as solid insurance underwriting offset slower pricing. Cash balances declined as the company added about $21 billion to its equity holdings (including a $10 billion Alphabet stake) and resumed aggressive share repurchases (about $4.5 billion in the quarter), leading Morningstar to raise its fair-value estimates for both Class A and Class B shares.
