Nine-Million-Dollar Yacht Sinks Off Sardinia After Engine Fire
A $9.1 million luxury yacht Angiola II sank off Sardinia’s Porto Cervo after an engine fire damaged seals, allowing water to flood the hull and cause it to tip. Fourteen guests were onboard; all were rescued, and there were no injuries, with the owner—an Italian businessman—and a companion evacuated last as the vessel settled in about 23 feet of water just days after delivery.
