NASA primes the Roman Space Telescope for a late-summer liftoff

NASA has fueled the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope for its Aug. 30 liftoff aboard SpaceX's Falcon Heavy, nine months ahead of schedule and under budget. The hydrazine-fueled observatory is expected to generate over 500 terabytes of data per year and features a Wide Field Instrument that can image the infrared sky 50 times wider than JWST, enabling studies of dark matter, dark energy, and thousands of supernovae while guiding JWST's future targets. Roman will reach and operate at the L2 point powered by its propellant.

NASA’s Roman Space Telescope lands at Cape for final launch prep

NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope arrived at Kennedy Space Center aboard the Pegasus barge for a ~70‑day prelaunch campaign at the Payload Hazardous Servicing Facility ahead of an Aug. 30 launch from Launch Complex 39A on a Falcon Heavy. The 43‑foot observatory, designed to operate at L2 about 1.5 million km from Earth with a 300‑megapixel Wide Field Instrument and a chronograph for exoplanets, will survey the universe far faster and wider than Hubble and is expected to last 5–10+ years with propellant after a cooling hiccup en route.

"SpaceX to Launch Euclid Telescope for ESA from Florida's Space Coast"

SpaceX is set to launch the European Space Agency's Euclid space telescope on July 1st from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The telescope will be used to create a 3D map of the universe, using time as the 3rd dimension, and will collect data in both visible and infrared light seeing as far back as 10 billion light-years. Euclid will be launched 1.5 million km from Earth to Lagrange Point 2, where it will use its thrusters to maintain a stable platform for capturing images.
