Snapdragon Upgrade Fails to Boost Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 Battery Life
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 uses an 800mAh battery paired with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite, but Samsung’s official specs keep the “up to 60 hours with Always-On Display” claim for the Ultra, same as the original model. The Galaxy Watch 9 series also increases battery size and switches to Wear OS 7, yet both generations still quote roughly 40 hours without AOD. The stagnant runtimes, despite bigger cells and a newer chip, may come from factors like a brighter 5,000-nit display or other power draws, or possibly outdated marketing numbers; Samsung says it’s seeking clarification from the company.
