GLP-1 Weight-Loss Drugs Linked to Strong Reductions in Obesity-Related Cancer Risk
A large observational study of over 229,000 obese, non-diabetic adults found GLP-1 receptor agonists (including semaglutide and tirzepatide) associated with a 41% lower overall risk of obesity-related cancers, with especially large reductions for endometrial cancer (about 58%), and notable drops for pancreatic and colorectal cancers; the study cannot prove causation and longer-term research is needed to confirm these findings.
