Etiquette Experts and Surveys Highlight Common Air Travel Faux Pas
A recent HuffPost guide and a YouGov survey commissioned by The Points Guy highlight that airplane etiquette is a growing concern for U.S. travelers. While experts like Jackie Vernon-Thompson and Jodi R.R. Smith advise against crowding gates, blocking aisles, or reclining seats without checking behind, survey data shows 42% of Americans believe passenger behavior has worsened in the past five years. Noise remains the top complaint, with 27% citing loud conversations or unheadphoned media as the most annoying behavior. Most travelers blame fellow passengers rather than airlines for poor conduct, emphasizing a desire for courtesy over strict new rules.
