Condom-like object in Popeyes chicken triggers Texas lawsuit
Two Texas customers are suing Popeyes and its parent company for $1.5 million, alleging negligence and deceptive trade practices after finding a condom-like object in fried chicken at a Houston location in July. Popeyes says the item was likely a glove, but refunded the guests and apologized. The lawsuit, filed Aug. 3, cites fears of contamination and seeks damages under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act.
