US and China Cut Tariffs on $60 Billion of Consumer and Agricultural Goods
The United States and China have agreed to reduce tariffs on $60 billion worth of goods, with each side lowering duties on $30 billion in non-sensitive products. The deal, brokered through the US-China Board of Trade, covers items ranging from US corn and coal to Chinese toys and appliances. A two-month extension of the trade truce until January 10, 2026, was also confirmed, though strategic sectors like semiconductors remain excluded.
