Gulf disturbance threatens Houston with heavy rain and street flooding by Tuesday
A developing tropical low in the Gulf of Mexico is expected to make landfall near Galveston on Tuesday, bringing widespread heavy rain and potential street flooding to the Houston area. While Monday remains hot and dry, a flood watch is in effect from Monday night through Wednesday morning for southeast Texas, including Galveston and Harris counties. Forecasters warn that rainfall, not wind, is the primary threat, with localized flooding likely near and east of the city center.
