Study: 11% of Older US Cannabis Users Meet Criteria for Use Disorder
A new analysis of US data shows that approximately 11.4% of adults aged 65 and older who use cannabis meet the criteria for cannabis use disorder (CUD). While most cases are mild, nearly a quarter are moderate or severe. The study highlights that frequent use, mental illness, and other substance use significantly increase risk, prompting calls for better clinical screening among seniors.
