Denmark's Vote Sets Stage for Prolonged Coalition Talks
Incumbent PM Mette Frederiksen's Social Democrats won the most votes in Denmark's parliamentary election (about 22%), but no party secured a majority, signaling weeks or months of coalition negotiations in a highly fractured 12-party parliament. Voters cited domestic issues—such as farm regulation and a wealth tax—over the Trump Greenland storyline, and while Frederiksen is expected to lead a center-left government, forming a stable coalition will be challenging with the Moderates and other smaller parties holding leverage.
